Studies</i> is now accepting submissions for its second issue, scheduled for
online publication in December 2018. We welcome contributions from scholars
working across a wide disciplinary range, including art history, literature and
film, religious studies, gender and cultural studies, history and anthropology,
conservation and museum studies.</p><p class="MsoNormal">The <i class="">Journal of Icon
Studies</i> is an online, peer-reviewed publication dedicated to the
interdisciplinary study of icons around the globe, from the Byzantine period to
the modern era. It serves as an international forum for new scholarship on the
theoretical, theological and historical significance of icons, their place
within a broad cultural and artistic context, as well as their
conservation, collecting, and exhibiting. The journal includes reviews of books
and exhibitions, archival discoveries, and translations of primary documents. <o:p class=""></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal">The journal is published annually by the Museum of Russian
Icons in Clinton, MA. The language of publication is English, with summaries in
Russian. Translation assistance will be provided by the museum.</p><p class="MsoNormal">Deadline for submissions is <b class="">June 1, 2018</b>. All submissions will receive a double-blind peer
