 comparisons of Latin and Orthodox Europe and the "feudal revolution" of the late- and post-Carolingian periods. The book broadens the debate by comparing texts written in ‘learned’ and ‘vulgar’ Latin, Church Slavonic, Anglo-Norman, and East Slavonic. From
